The Fruitful Darkness: Winter Solstice Deep Stretch

Uncategorized Nov 29, 2018

The Fruitful Darkness: Winter Solstice Deep Stretch | Dec 21 | 7pm

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day.  For myself, the night represents reflection, introspection, and reverence. A time to honor what has been, to let go of what doesn’t serve, and to connect to a place deep within where stillness can resound and wisdom can arise.

The days following the solstice will progressively get longer and brighter with time.  The moon is a feminine symbol, universally representing the rhythm of time as it embodies her cycles.

The phases of the moon symbolize immortality and eternity, and the dark side of Nature herself. It reflects inner knowledge and the phases of man's condition on Earth.

It is the middle ground between the light of the sun and the darkness of night, and thus often...

Without further ado, let’s get to it.

5 Ways to Stop Procrastinating

  1. Write the tasks down. Whatever tasks you have, write them down.  Whether you’re writing them down in your planner or placing them in your Google calendar, s p e l l it out.  Take the task out of your head and onto paper. The task will become more tangible and accessible and it’s a way to hold yourself accountable.
  2. Organize your tasks by priority. Have you ever had a mountain of things to do and instead you just take a nap? Yeah, sure, neither do we … :) Next time before taking that slumber, try organizing your tasks by priority.  Use a system: High, medium, low....

Sharing Your Yoga Passion with Your Person

Yoga is your passion.  You practice multiple times, you've built a community around it, and hey, you may even follow multiple yoga accounts on Instagram.  But how does that translate outside of your yoga bubble and into your personal life?  Do your people also feed on your passion of yoga? Today, we break down sharing your yoga passion with your person.

Create space for them to join. When it comes to sharing your yoga passion with your person, encouragement is key.  Giving them a glimpse into what a class looks like or the simple gesture of inviting them to a class may give that person the courage to go.

Offer incentives. If your person has never been to a class, offer up some incentives.  For example, Y1 offers a great 30 days for $31 as well as deals for newcomers! Check out all the goodies here.

Break down the basics. We get it, going to a new experience such as a yoga class can be intimidating.  Especially when that...
